The Yachts
Yachts that we sail on are always young, 2-7 years old, and of a good quality brands: Bavaria, Benetau, Sun Odyssey, Hanse, …, therefore classified as ‘premium class’. We are always choosing yachts by the best quality/price ratio, therefore we choose lengths of 40-50 feet. Sometimes we are not able to source 2-7 year old yachts due to the local circumstances. In such a case we will write on the trip page what is the age of the yachts rented for each trip.
Each of the yachts offers 3-5 cabins: at least three of which have a double bed and one or two cabins are with two single beds. Additionally there is a convertible sofa in the saloon but this will not be used for sleeping*. All this normally adds up to 8 people per yacht. However it might happen that on a larger yacht there will be 10 people in total, while on smaller 6 people in total. Every solo traveller shares a cabin with another solo travellers of the same sex. Cabins have small closets and cubbies for your clothes and possessions. Each yacht is equipped with at least two heads (bathrooms) where you can have a shower (hot water). They are compact, but you will get accustomed to them in no time (even in two persons).
In the saloon you will find fully equipped galley (kitchen) – small oven, gas stove, washbasin, cutlery and crockery, and a dining table. Most likely you will choose to eat breakfast and lunch at the table outside – there are simply better views! The yachts have a refrigerator, electricity, stereo with CD/MP3 player and other amenities that you might expect from conventional lodging. This is not a luxurious hotel, but think of this: which hotel offers constantly changing panoramic view and freedom to take it wherever you wish?
The cockpit (steering and sitting space) outside is spacious, able to hold the whole crew while sailing or dining. There is an electronic chart plotter and GPS for your convenience in navigation and exploration of the coastlines. The bimini will keep the sun away (if need be) and the outside shower will flush away the salt from your body after a swim. If you wish, you can even use it with hot water!
Have a look at the photos below and make yourself familiar with the yacht which will be your home for at least a week! The below photos do not represent exactly the yacht we sail on, but the class of a yacht that you will sail on with Naleia. Little differences in configuration/outlooks are possible. The comfort is always the same!
*Some companies use the saloon for skipper to sleep in. Our policy is that the skipper gets a bunk bed cabin to share with another participant of the same gender. This ensures that the person with most responsibility can get a proper rest and be there to organise your experience the best way s/he can. Saloon is a “community” space always available to use.
