Sailing Holidays in Italy, `Amalfi Coast` Route
The high mountain ridges embrace little villages and creeks, with the scent from the omnipresent lemon blossoms wafting in the breeze. The “Divine” coast as it is also known, in included in the UNESCO world heritage list. Below towering cliffs, on steep slopes, people built their colorful houses and thrived for centuries, forming a medieval maritime republic based on sea trade and fishing. We sail along the Amalfi Coast, taking in well-known locations such as Amalfi, Capri and Positano.
Join us and embrace the Dolce Vita
that Italy has to offer!
Note: We are faithful to the true sailing spirit, therefore we plan exact stopovers together with the wind and weather. Our trips are not a planned itinerary which is always the same. This means that the exact order of stopovers may be different to the one presented below, but definitely as much interesting!

Our Main Stops En route:
Salerno
Our marina is located in the Salerno city that is easily accessible from Naples by train, bus or taxi. We can also organize an airport transfer which you can book through our booking engine. The city itself is an attractive coastal town with many old houses mixed with newly built ones. Even though it`s an adorable location, we plan to provision the yacht, meet the crew and leave the marina as early as possible to start sailing in Italy already on the check-in day!

Amalfi
Approaching Amalfi from the sea, is really an amazing experience. Steep mountain sides gradually uncover colorful houses and the closer we are, the more amazed we get. It is really startling to see houses built on an almost vertical angle around a valley. Lush vegetation surrounds this little town and a winding road cuts right through the middle of it. Experiencing this view from a sailboat was on our bucket list for a long time!
Upon arrival we leave our yacht in the port of Amalfi and enjoy strolling through passageways as wide as a man. While exploring this colorful gem we walk by local artists stands, hand made ceramics, fruit stands and cafes. There are plenty of good restaurants, pizzerias and bars to eat out. “It`s Italy after all!” The beauty of Amalfi captured hearts of many artists, most prominent among them: Wagner.

With a short bus ride from Amalfi we reach the village of Ravello, where we visit one of two beautiful medieval villas: Villa Cambrioni. In it`s large gardens we enjoy the shade and a drink with the panoramic background of almost the whole Amalfitian coast!

Capri
Surely the most famous island in Italy, and a must-see while sailing in Italy. We aim to moor at a buoy in Marina Piccola on the south side of the island. After going on shore with our tender, we walk on Via Krupp which is a stone paved footpath carved in the cliffs. We follow this winding road just next to the cliffs on the southern part of the island and we reach Augustus Gardens where we enjoy the shade and beautiful subtropical flowers. Afterwards we continue to the heart of Capri Town – Piazza Umberto I, also known as Piazzetta. It`s a little town square from which we admire the view to the northern side of the island and a second possible mooring place in Capri: Marina Grande.
We plan plenty of time to experience this island. We can visit luxury villas, ruins of the house of the Roman Emperor Tiberius, or take a cable lift to the top of Monte Solaro (500m). For the more adventurous ones, there is many hiking trails awaiting. Follow them to see the most breathtaking views on Capri!

Positano
Like Capri, Positano is famous all around the world for its beauty and its fashion (Moda Positano), and, like Capri, is patronised by many celebrities. We moor at one of the fishermen buoys or drop an anchor. A beach restaurant Chez Black
is not to be missed as well as espresso after the meal and the local lemon cake.

Other Amalfitian Coast Views
Except locations listed above we might stop for a lunch, coffee or a stroll in the following locations. Also if the weather is not good enough to stop in the planned locations, we can use these ones as an alternative stopover! Sailing holidays in Italy are full of wonders no matter where you sail. Additional locations which we can visit are: Isolotti Li Gialli: the islands of the Sirens of which Circe warned Odysseus, Marina Grande on Capri, Conca Dei Marini, Sorrento, Corricella, Furore Fjord or Atrani.
Other Yacht Life Perks

Sunset Sailing
Everyone and everything becomes quiet and peaceful when the sun goes down while you still sail. Magic.

Fender Flights
You can use one of the lines attached to the top of the mast to swing out of the yacht to dive into the water!

Line Surfing
A long line behind a yacht and a bunch of people holding onto it. Exciting and refreshing!

Snorkelling
Remember to bring your ABC snorkeling set. The Italian coast is full of marine life!
Lunch Stops
Everyday we aim to stop at vibrant bays for a quick lunch and snorkelling. We drop an anchor and enjoy the beauty of the nature around us. We eat what we cook on board, swim in crystal clear water, sunbath and relax. And if you wish to, you can climb the mast to take such a great photo! Afterwards another sailing session awaits!

Regatta
We always have a regatta on the last day of our sailing trips. We put our newly learnt skills into use and you take the reins. Skippers do not help at all and the team has lots of fun and a little prize at the end!

Most Frequent Questions About Flotilla Sailing in Italy
WHO WILL BE ON MY YACHT?
Around 50% of the people who come to my sailing holidays are coming solo. 25% in groups of 2 and 25% in the group of 3 and more. As there is a few yachts I take special care in matching people to the crews. I even wrote a little blog post about that: Matching Yacht Crews for Sailing Holidays
WHAT DOES THE EXACT ITINERARY LOOK LIKE?
At Naleia we plan as we go according to the weather conditions and all crews` moods. There are a variety of places that we can visit, but the order and exact choice is only made each morning after verifying the weather conditions. Leave planning at home! We live for the moment!
WHEN CAN I CHECK-IN ON THE FIRST DAY AND WHEN DO WE ARRIVE TO MARINA ON THE LAST DAY?
Check-ins are always on Saturdays at 16h00. You are naturally most welcome to come earlier and say hello! Our yacht will be being cleaned at this moment, so we will need to wait a little. If all the crew arrives early enough we plan to leave port still on the check-in day!
We need to check-out and leave the yachts before 09h00 on Wednesday morning, so we arrive back to Salerno either late on Tuesday (~19h00) or very early on Wednesday morning (07h00).
HOW MANY YACHTS WILL BE IN ITALIAN FLOTILLA?
There won`t be more than 6 yachts in our Amalfitian flotilla. This allows us to fit into small and uninhabited bays, moor at little restaurants and it makes the group small enough to have a cosy and friendly atmosphere that allows spontaneous ideas to come to life! For example: hiking the nearby hill to admire the sunset, going to a local concert or jamming on our yachts!
